The Top Lists

Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information we collect to run the lists, count votes, prevent abuse, and keep the site working.

Last updated: October 5, 2026

Information we collect

  • Site activity: pages viewed, timestamps, browser details, and security logs from our hosting and protection providers.
  • Top Lists analytics: public pages on toplists.me use Google Analytics to measure page views and site engagement.
  • Votes, nominations, and hearts: the X handle submitted, the action taken, timestamps, verification results, and anti-abuse signals such as IP-derived request metadata.
  • X login: if you choose to sign in with X, we use X only to confirm your account identity. We may store your X user ID, username, display name, profile image, and a signed login cookie.

What we do not collect

We do not ask X for your email address, direct messages, timeline, or posting permission. We do not store X access tokens after the login check is complete.

How we use information

We use information to operate the lists, show aggregate rankings and counts, remember login state, investigate abuse, rate-limit automated traffic, debug errors, and protect the service.

Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We share limited information with infrastructure and security providers that help run the site, with X during the login flow, or when required by law.

Retention and choices

We keep list records and security logs as long as needed to operate and protect the service. You can clear cookies in your browser or sign out to remove local login state.

Children and changes

The service is not directed to children under 13. We may update this policy as the lists evolve, and the latest version will live on this page.
